Abstract: | In this thesis a number of novel results about elementary processes of energy transfer in liquids is obtained by help of time resolved IR/IR- and IR/Raman pump-probe experiments. Besides various methodical improvements of IR double resonance spectroscopy, in particular the following results are important: Detailed elucidation of vibrational relaxation in haloforms; Identification of particular processes of intermolecular transfer of vibrational energy; Observation and explanation of intensity dependence of relaxation of the CH stretching vibration of bromoform; Precise determination of the temperature dependence of relaxation of the CH stretching vibration of bromoform; Investigation of the thermalization of absorbed laser energy on time scales of pico- to milliseconds, for the example of chloroform; Observation of energy thermalization of water nanodroplets (reverse micelles) in microemulsions after laser induced temperature jump. In the first part of the work the theoretical and methodical basis of the experiments is briefly discussed, while in the second part the results from 12 already published papers are presented. |
