Abstract: The targeted application of herbicides is a crucial component of modern agriculture to minimize yield losses caused by weed competition. At the same time, the precise analysis of plant physiological parameters, such as chlorophyll content, is gaining increasing importance in assessing the impact of different herbicide dosages on crop plants. This study investigates the effects of varying herbicide dosages on the chlorophyll content of winter wheat and evaluates the suitability of different chlorophyll-sensitive detection methods for assessing these effects. To achieve this, field trials with different herbicide applications were conducted, and chlorophyll content was measured using four distinct detection methods. The analysis was performed through mean value calculations and the determination of the percentage deviation from the untreated control variant. The results indicate that both herbicide dosage and the choice of detection method significantly influence the recorded values. While some methods exhibited higher sensitivity to variations in chlorophyll concentration, others demonstrated lower variability. These findings provide valuable insights into the optimization of methodological selection in agricultural research and highlight the importance of precise plant physiological analyses for the sustainable management of herbicide application strategies.
