Einfluss von uPA und PAI auf die Prognose oraler Plattenepithelkarzinome

Abstract

Die vorliegende Studie untersuchte den Einfluss von uPA und PAI auf die Prognose oraler Plattenepithelkarzinome. Hierfür wurden 55 Tumorpräparate aus den Jahren 1998 - 2003 immunhistochemisch untersucht. Die Auswertung erfolgte mit dem Immunreaktiven Score nach Remmele und Stegner. Die Expression von uPA und PAI zeigte keinen direkten Zusammenhang mit den klinisch-pathologischen Parametern Tumorgröße, regionärer Lymphknotenbefall und Fernmetastasen (TNM). Bei einer Überexpression von uPA war das relative Risiko des tumorassoziierten Todes um das 3,8-fache erhöht (p= 0,04). UPA kann als additiver prognostischer Faktor beim oralen Plattenepithelkarzinom herangezogen werden.

The present study evaluated the role of uPA and PAI and their prognostic value in oral squamousa cell carcinoma (OSSC). Based upon 55 tissue extracts from 1998 - 2003 the results are not correlating between expression of uPA and PAI an the clinicopathological parameters (TNM). Furthermore uPA expression has a relative risk of 3,8 (p= 0,04) according to tumor-associated death. Therefore the clinical investigation provides significant evidance for uPA as an independent additive-prognostic factor in OSSC.
