Abstract: Verletzungen der Mukosa sind Folge einer intensiven Chemotherapie.
Injury of the mucosal barrier follows intensive chemotherapy. It increases the risk of infection and is associated with prolonged use of antibiotics. Citrulline serves as a marker of small intestine injury. Aim of the study was to determine the extent of mucositis before and after the introduction of Palifermin (KGF). 05/06-09/06 the extent of mucositis in autologous and allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) was evaluated prospectively in patients (pt) with haematological malignancies. Evaluated were the clinical state, daily oral mucositis score, daily gut score and the plasma citrulline level. 09/06-06/07 KGF was applied to all pt undergoing HSCT. 49 pt were evaluated. 31 pt underwent autologous and 18 allogeneic HSCT. 19 of the autologous and 11 of the allogeneic transplanted pt received KGF. In pt with KGF mucositis were seen less often. These differences were statistically non significant. Citrulline levels were significantly higher in pt receiving KGF.
