Abstract: First examinations at the Institute for Geography, University Halle-Wittenberg, show that the soils of gardens in the city of Halle generally are not polluted or "noxious" [DIABY et ZIERDT (1993), FRÜHAUF at al. ( 1993)]). As a result it can be stated that in few cases today's official limits for soils and plants are exceeded. These sites - often single gardens - are located on former most natureous refuse tips. They should be rehabilitate through mixing with unstressed mother earth.
