Abstract: In Germany, the Agile Frog (Rana dalmatina) belongs to the poorly-studied arnphibians which is mainly caused by a high rate of false determination, the sporadic distribution and low abundances. Intensified mapping activities in Saxony-Anhalt and Lower Saxony during the last 10 years led to the discovery of a remarkablenumber of new localities. These records have improved the previous knowledge of the distribution and threat to this species. Areas which are still inadequately mapped and focus for future research are pointed out. Due to the cross-border distribution of the species, conservation measures should be coordinated between thefederal states and implemented together.
