Abstract: To what extent and how certain gender stereotypes are presented in the media is the subject of this work. On the basis of the example series "Game of Thrones" it will be analysed to what extent the classical, partly medieval roles are based on our current understanding of roles or whether they are even broken with. While the theoretical part deals with the basic definition of gender stereotypes and the content description of the series, a quantitative content analysis is carried out in the methodological part and the stereotype content model is used for qualitative analysis.
