The principle of intramolecular coordination in the organotin chemistry helps by using C,Y chelating ligands (Y = donor function) to investigate the flexibility of hypervalent organotin compounds, to stabilize the configuration of chiral triorganotin halogen compounds and to synthesise low valent tin species. The present studies deal with the synthesis of new phosphorus functionalized organotin halogen compounds under variation of the donating group (P=O, P=N, P=S) as well as the investigation of ligand exchange processes in these penta- and hexacoordinated organotin species. Reductive elimination of the tin-halogen-bond in these compounds as well as the direct reaction of tin(II) compounds with the chelating ligands should lead to the synthesis of intramolecular base stabilized, monomeric, heteroleptic stannylenes. Further the complex formation of those ligands with organotin halogens Me4-nSnCln (n=1,2,4) has been investigated. In addition, a lot of these compounds have been characterized by means of crystal structure analysis.eng
