R, B.: Contribution to the study of the flora and vegetation of Bierritz hill near Leipzig. - Hercynia N.F. 34 (2001): 53- 99. Phytosociological researches have been done in an area near Leipzig (Saxony, Gerrnany) called Bierritz and of its surroundings. 31 vegetation units belonging to II different classes were recorded. Especially due to different interlinked soil types and peculiarities in the micro- and macroclimate, ahigh diversity of living spaces could develop within a relatively small area. The former high diversity of plant species has been greatly reduced and partly changed owing to wide ameliorations of the marshes, changings in the exploitation of the forest, the general eutrophication and various other disturbances in the natural balance by man. Finally advices for a future management according to nature conservation aims are given.eng
