Most studies of climate change refer to the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events. But only few researches deal with the speed of a variation within a specified period. Interdiurnal variation means the change of meteorological variables from one to the next day. For this study the parameters temperature and air pressure were considered at five stations from Central Europe in the period 1901 – 2010. It was important that the used datasets were homogeneously and reliable in the relevant period. The selected stations were Halle (Saale), Potsdam, Zugspitze and Hohenpeißenberg in Germany and De Bilt in the Netherlands. To represent and compare the changes it was necessary to construct special contrast numbers (TKZ / LKZ). Results for temperatures show a significant increase of the annual trend-to-noise ratio at higher altitude stations like Zugspitze and Hohenpeißenberg. Mean annual max-temperature and the contrast number of this variable were positively and significantly correlated at both stations. At the station Zugspitze the means for air pressure decreased between two periods.eng
