Gehlken, B.: Syntaxonomy of dwarf rush-communities in the Harz Mountains. - Hercynia N. F. 50(2017): 1 – 30. Mine ponds and reservoirs are broader phenomena in the Harz Mountains in Northern Germany, becauseof their periodical dry fall due to little rainfall or intentional discharge. In this case, the pond’s groundis ready to be inhabited by an annual pioneer vegetation. In the Harz Mountains, this vegetation canbe divided into five plant-communities, which are mainly induced by different soil conditions. Basedon new relevees and descriptions from literature, the pioneer vegetation of pond grounds in the HarzMountains is described.Especially the syntaxonomic position of Corrigiola-communities has been handled very differently sofar. Therefore, a new classification approach is compiled. Thorough observation of riverbanks suggeststhat an assignment of Corrigiola-communities not to the Bidentetea, but to Isoeteo-Nanojuncetea, is reasonable. In this context, a new alliance of dwarf rush-communities on sandy or skeleton-rich soils wascreated, which seems more suitable for the description of the local conditions in the Harz Mountains.
