Abstract

The increasing electrification of cars changes the acoustic challenges in the vehicle interior. On the one hand, the sounds of auxiliaries become more prominent, since in cars with electric drives they are no longer masked by the sound of a combustion engine. On the other hand, the quality of the noise emitted by the powertrain changes. For electric drives, the perception of tonal components is key to the psychoacoustic characterisation of the vehicle sound. An important sensation in this context is the magnitude of tonal content, sometimes also referred to as tonalness or tonality. This study presents factors, which influence this sensation. Among others, it is shown how level and number of tonal components affect the magnitude of tonal content, how this sensation changes with age and hearing impairment and how it relates to the pleasantness of a sound.

Mit der zunehmenden Elektrifizierung von Fahrzeugen ändern sich auch die akustischen Herausforderungen für den Fahrzeuginnenraum. Zum einen gewinnt die Akustik von Nebenaggregaten an Bedeutung, da das verdeckende Verbrennergeräusch bei elektrischen Antrieben entfällt. Zum anderen ändert sich die Qualität des Antriebsgeräuschs. So tritt die Wahrnehmung von tonalen Anteilen in den Mittelpunkt der psychoakustischen Charakterisierung der Fahrzeuggeräusche. Eine zentrale Empfindungsgröße ist hierbei die Tonhaltigkeit des Signals, d.h. die Wahrnehmung der Stärke des tonalen Anteils. Im vorliegenden Beitrag wird vorgestellt, welche Faktoren einen Einfluss auf diese Empfindung haben. So wird z.B. gezeigt, wie die Anzahl der Komponenten und deren Pegel die Tonhaltigkeit beeinflusst, wie die Tonhaltigkeit sich mit Alter und Schwerhörigkeit ändert und wie die Tonhaltigkeit mit der Angenehmheit der Geräusche zusammenhängt.
