| ger |
dc.description.abstract | Neighbourhoods with high walkability may promote physical activity and thus improve health outcomes on population level. The aim of this thesis was to examine associations of walkability with walking/cycling, body mass index (BMI), and type 2 diabetes (T2D) in Germany. Pooled data from five cohorts were analysed (sample sizes: 6269 to 16008). Three walkability indicators were used: 1) impedance, 2) number of points of interest (POI), 3) transit stations within 640 meters of participant’s addresses. Generalized additive models and modified Poisson regressions were run. | eng |
