Abstract: In der Frühlaktation stehen Kühe vor metabolischen Herausforderungen.
During early lactation cows face metabolic challenges. They experience a negative energy balance as energy intake increases more slowly than energy demands rises. To examine the changes and adaptions cows with different pre-calving body condition and postpartum concentrate feed proportions of the ration were compared. Changes of fat depots were measured via ultrasonic measurements, which revealed a more pronounced mobilization of single adipose tissues in higher conditioned animals. Influences of different concentrate feed proportions and of microbial efficiencies on ruminal pH parameters, nutrient flows and digestibilities were were investigated. Cows were additionally grouped according to their individual microbial efficiency. The concentrate treatment effect did not cause differences in the mentioned parameters. More microbial efficiency cows exhibited higher nutrient flows but lower digestibilities. Animal health was considered with regard to hematological traits as indicators for possible interactions between nutritional status and immune system. The present experimental conditions did not overstress physiological adaptability.
