Zusammenfassung: | Substantive research defines resilience as the ability or capacity of households, communities, and systems to mitigate or cope with shocks. This cumulative thesis examines the household resilience capacity and its impact on food security. Thesis manuscripts use the Life in Kyrgyzstan Study (LiK), the Tajikistan Living Standard Survey (TLSS), and the Tajikistan Household Panel Survey (THPS). The findings confirm that resilience has positive effects on food security outcomes. Moreover, the role of social capital is vital in building resilience. Building evidence of the relationship in the Central Asian context has significant policy implications for the food insecurity resilience agenda. |
