Abstract: | Background und Objectives: We examined the effect of the photodynamic Diagnosis (PDD) by bladder cancer of the recurrence rate, residual tumor rate, and progression-free survival. Materials and methods: we retrospectively collected 98 patients. Patients were diagnosed with a primary bladder tumor by using either WL-TURB (49 patients) or BL-TURB with PDD (49 patients). Conclusion: Using the PDD (HAL) significantly reduces the risk of residual tumors. The 3- and 12-month recurrence-free survival and 1-year progression-free survival are significantly prolonged.
