Taxonomic monograph of the genus Taeniolella s. lat. (Ascomycota)

Abstract

Eine taxonomische Monographie über die Askomyzetengattung Taeniolella (asexuelle, dunkel gefärbte Hyphomyzeten, sexuelles Stadium unbekannt) wird bereitgestellt. Der taxonomische Hintergrund, die Geschichte, die Gattungsbeschreibung, die Unterscheidung von morphologisch verwechselbaren Gattungen, Phylogenie, Biologie, Wirtsspektrum und Verbreitung, und das Artkonzept von Taeniolella werden kurz umrissen und diskutiert. Bestimmungsschlüssel zu den Taeniolella-Arten werden bereitgestellt. 29 flechtenbewohnende Arten und 16 saprobische Arten werden detailliert beschrieben und mittels Zeichnungen, makroskopischer, mikroskopischer und rasterelektronenmikroskopischer Aufnahmen abgebildet, inklusive 6 neuer flechtenbewohnender Arten, drei neuer saprobischer Arten und der Neukombination T. arthoniae. Ausgegliederte, zweifelhafte und unzureichend bekannte, zu Taeniolella gestellte, Arten werden am Ende gelistet, diskutiert, beschrieben und in einigen Fällen illustriert.

A taxonomic monograph of the ascomycete genus Taeniolella (asexual dematiaceous hyphomycetes, sexual morphs unknown) is provided. The taxonomic background, history, generic description and discrimination from morphologically confusable genera, phylogeny, biology, host range and distribution, and species concept of Taeniolella species are briefly outlined and discussed. Keys to the species of Taeniolella are provided. 29 lichenicolous species as well as 16 saprobic species are described in detail and illustrated by drawings, macroscopic photographs, light microscopic micrographs and SEM pictures, including six new lichenicolous species, three new saprobic species, and the new combination T. arthoniae. Excluded, doubtful and insufficiently known species assigned to Taeniolella are listed at the end, discussed, described and in some cases illustrated.
